Giants: Casey Schmitt's Big Night

Hot-Hitting Prospect Powers Career Night

Sacramento, Calif. - Casey Schmitt, the San Francisco Giants' top third base prospect, had a career night at the plate on Friday, going 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBIs in the River Cats' 11-4 win over the Reno Aces. It was Schmitt's first professional grand slam, and his six RBIs were a career high.

Schmitt Heating Up at Triple-A

Schmitt, who was promoted to Triple-A earlier this month, is now hitting .321 with two home runs and 14 RBIs in 18 games for the River Cats. He has also drawn 12 walks and struck out just 10 times.

The Giants are excited about Schmitt's progress, and they believe he has the potential to be a major league star. He is a good hitter with power and a good eye at the plate, and he also has good speed and fielding skills.

Schmitt is expected to continue to develop in Triple-A for the rest of the season, and he could be called up to the majors later this year if he continues to perform well.
